Oh yeah, glad you licked the ground/battery problem too! Does it have the right door skins yet? _________________ '98 Buick Riviera; Gen V 3.2 pulley, N*, VS Cam, 180 stat, Custom PCM (Powrtuner), headers & HF cat , 42.5 lb inj.

I have black doors with grey interior again.
Swapped the skins yesterday. Actually a lot easier than I originally thought.
I installed my new door locks also.
I would have taken pictures but I was exhausted.
I think Monday morning I'll get it registered, then all that's left to get it driveable is new tires and an alignment.
I managed to break a bolt for the front sway bar. i tried to drill it out but broke my only drill bit before I could get it out.
I think I'll have a shop fix it, and install my new front tie rods while they're at it.
I manage to break something everytime I try to fix something lol |

Good progress on this thing!
I haven't been on the boards much, but its nice to see it coming along. We need to have an auto vs manual shootout at the track.. |

well.. front left caliper is frozen
Going to just buy a rebuilt one instead of trying to fix it myself.
And my upper control arm bushings are shot.. so I need to replace those before I get an alignment
Any one want to help me fix these things? I'm getting tired of working on this thing and need motiviation.
I figure I'll replace the tie rods, the control arm bushings, the brake lines and the caliper all at once
hopefully get this thing driving 'safely' next week. |

lemme check with the wife to see what kinda free time I have.
I have had frozen calipers on a couple cars and was always able to persuade them to start working. once they were broken lose... I put some grease on them to try to prevent it from happening again.
If you already plan on buying a new one and aren't driving the vehicle anyways... It doesn't hurt to take a whack at it (with a big fucking hammer) _________________ 12.466 @ 114.15 INTENSE S1X/ZZP IC/TOG Headers

Definitely replace the factory rubber hose when you change the caliper. They swell up on the inside and work like crap.
If you're interested, a poly total kit from summit is only like $90. |

If I do get the Poly, will I still need a press to get them in? Or can I just use a c-clamp?
I figure while I'm at it I'll replace the bottom bushings, and all 4 ball joints.
I'll also buy the braided brake hoses and just install the prebent steel lines and the tierods also |

well I just ordered:
-New poly control arm bushings for all 6 control arms (4 front and 2 rear)
-New bolts for all four upper and lower front control arms
-New Upper and Lower ball joints for both sides
-A rebuilt Caliper
-New front brake pads
-One new rotor
-Braided Brake hoses for all 4 corners
And I already have
-New inner and outer front Tie rods
-New Stainless prebent Brake lines
Should be a pretty strong ride with halfway decent braking when I'm done
I figure this will take me a good 3 weeks to install it all..
but I still have 3 days off in May that I was intending to take off for the drag day that was canceled. |
